Thanks for ALL the support with getting your Cub(s) ready for their first week back to school! Here's a run-down of this week's highlights:
- Day 1 arrival --> 6th graders reported to the gym upon arrival for schedule distribution and meeting up with their Period 1 teacher + classmates. On Day 2, all 6th graders knew where to go for the start of their day!
- Day 1 all-school assembly in the gym --> sound system wasn't working, but our Cubs did an EXCELLENT job at taking my Principal hand-signal cue for silence. They sat and listened respectfully and we had a wee-taste of grade-level spirit competition. Way to go, 8th graders for earning the Spirit Stick this round!
- Day 2 --> all Cubs received explicit training from our Admin Team on behavior expectations in our school's common areas (i.e. Cafeteria, Bathrooms, Halls/Flex-spaces)
- Day 3 --> all Cubs received explicit training from our Assistant Principals on Student Rights and Responsibilities
- Each day, classroom teachers were conducting community-building activities to ensure "belonging through a culture of dignity" (our area of focus)
- Each day, students proved that they do NOT need to be on mobile devices during lunches. Kids are socializing, playing games, doing art & crafts and hanging out in the library. Your support has been key to this success!
- Each day, our school's support staff are ensuring kids get just what they need in so many ways!
